Why vote for Karl Wizinsky?

My broad experience in finding innovative solutions to business & organizational problems, my collaborative leadership style and my integrity will assist the governing body of the Novi Community School District in meeting its current and future challenges. I also offer a broad set of longstanding relationships in this community on which I can draw for information and support.

For 25 years, I have had children attending Novi Community Schools, and have worked in the schools as a volunteer. My wife, Marcia, and I now live on Wixom Road, and our Sarah, 17 (NHS) and Paul, 16 (NHS), have known no other home. My oldest son, Matt, discovered his passion for design at Novi High School (Class of ’96) and is now a Senior Graphic Designer for an international design firm.

My candidacy for School Board reflects my continuing desire to strengthen the Novi Community. Last year I was appointed to the Novi Educational Foundation which raises and provides resources to fund greater educational opportunities in Novi. Among NEF’s programs are teacher grants, student scholarships and teacher of the year awards

During the 1970’s and 1980’s I worked on planning committees for the School District and for Holy Family Catholic Church addressing expansion and service issues then facing the community. Other roles, such as my service on the City’s Board of Review, have given me a broad perspective on the community’s growth, development and goals. We now face a period of great transition for Novi Community Schools, and NCSD leadership must be prepared to respond to changes in the economy, and to demands made by the community and its students.

I am a lifelong Michigan resident (MBA, Wayne State University-1983) and will bring 30 years of executive, administrative and consulting experience to the board. The next four year period will be unlike any previous four years in the history of the Novi Community School District. My integrity, leadership skills and creativity are qualifications of an effective Novi Community School District Trustee.
